The product and price source
Daily Costcodle uses product photos and US dollar price references collected from public pages on Costco Food Database, a third-party website. This is not a live feed from Costco Wholesale, and Daily Costcodle is not affiliated with or endorsed by Costco.
When you finish a daily game, the result shows its reference price and a link to the specific product source. You can open that page to understand the product behind the puzzle.
Product photos and copyright
Product photos are sourced from Costco Food Database. Daily Costcodle does not claim ownership of these third-party photos; copyright remains with their respective rights holders.
If you are a rights holder with a concern about a product photo, contact contact@dailycostcodle.com with the relevant image or puzzle details so we can review it.
How a product becomes a daily find
Our collection process uses public product records from the source’s Store API for batch collection and periodically rechecks product pages for changes. A usable candidate needs a clear product name, pack size, photo, and a single price in US dollars. Incomplete or ambiguous records are excluded from the daily selection.
Candidates must pass checks for a clear package size, a single US dollar price, a usable product photo, and duplicates before they can be scheduled. Ambiguous records are kept out of automatic selection. Collection and publication are separate steps: finding a product page does not automatically make it tomorrow’s puzzle. Only a portion of the catalog becomes a published daily challenge.
One fixed price for the whole day
Each scheduled puzzle stores a snapshot of the product information and reference price. Later changes to the source do not change that puzzle’s answer. Everyone can therefore play against the same target throughout the UTC day.
Periodic checks help maintain the candidate catalog, but they do not guarantee a price is recent. A page being checked again is not proof that the price on that page was updated. The game’s reference is intended for a puzzle, not a current purchase decision.
Why the price you know may differ
- Location and timing: warehouse prices and promotions can vary.
- Shopping channel: warehouse, online, and delivery prices may differ.
- Pack size: guess the complete size listed in the game, not a single unit.
- Packaging: a photo may show a different label or package; use the written product details.
